He is a native of Augusta, Georgia and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1983. He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1988 and is an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene. He has served as Student Pastor in Huntsville, AL, Overland, MO, and Clarksville, TN. He has been married to Gena since September of 1988 and they have four children: Lauren (27), Morgan (23), Sydney (19), and Luke (13). Andy enjoys studying history, watching most sports, especially the University of Georgia Bulldogs, playing golf, down home country cooking and homemade desserts.
His favorite Scripture is Jeremiah 1:17-19: "But you—up on your feet and get dressed for work! Stand up and say your piece. Say exactly what I tell you to say. Don't pull your punches or I'll pull you out of the lineup. "Stand at attention while I prepare you for your work. I'm making you as impregnable as a castle, Immovable as a steel post, solid as a concrete block wall. You're a one-man defense system against this culture, against Judah's kings and princes, against the priests and local leaders. They'll fight you, but they won't even scratch you. I'll back you up every inch of the way."
